Who this covers

This policy explains what information The Lifting School LLC collects, how it is used, and how you can have it removed. If you have any questions, contact info@theliftingschool.com. Because this is a technical document that needs to be accurate and up to date, I have used Claude AI to write and review this policy.

What I don't do

  • I don't sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.
  • I don't run ads, and I don't use your information for ads.
  • This website has no analytics, no tracking scripts, and no cookies.
  • I don't embed third-party widgets such as social media buttons or video players, which can track you. Links to other sites are plain links, and those sites only learn about you if you click.
  • I don't share your information with anyone outside my business, except the services that handle it for me, which are listed below.

Google account data

I run private scheduling and record-keeping software for my coaching business. With my own Google account's permission, it accesses:

  • Google Calendar events: read, and create or update, to schedule training sessions and invite clients.
  • Google Sheets contents: read only, to keep each client's training program history.
  • Google Drive file names and modified dates: read only, to find those spreadsheets.

How that data is used

It is used only to run my coaching business: scheduling sessions, sending reminders, and keeping client training history. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone outside my business.

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where it is stored

Copies of this data are stored on computers I own, on a private network that is not reachable from the internet.

Removing your data

To have your information deleted, email info@theliftingschool.com. I can also revoke my software's access to my Google account at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions.

This website

This website saves nothing about you just for visiting it. It handles your information only when you send one of its two forms, which go to a server I run for my business.

  • Contact form: if you send it, your first name, email and message are stored on my server. I use them only to reply to you.
  • Intake form: I send you a personal link to it. What you enter (name, email, phone, country, state, city, birth date, gender, height, weight, joint pain, goals, gym membership, equipment, schedule preferences, and any notes) is stored on my server. I use your answers only to contact you about training and to build your program.
  • Where form answers go: the server is rented from Vultr, a hosting company, in the United States. Each answer is kept there until you ask me to delete it. It also sends me an email with your answers, through a Gmail account used only for these notifications, and a phone notification through ntfy that says only which form arrived, never your name or answers. The server keeps no log of visitors' IP addresses.
  • Backups: the server makes an encrypted copy of the stored answers every night, keeps each copy for 30 days, and copies them to my own computers, which keep them for 30 days too. Vultr also keeps backups of the whole server under its own policy. If you ask me to delete your answers, they are gone from the server right away and from my backups within 30 days.
  • Saved in your browser: the light or dark setting, the weight log, and any custom plates in the plate counter are kept in your own browser's storage, not in cookies. They never leave your device, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
  • Hosting: this site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses to operate its service, under its own privacy statement. I don't use those logs.
